All E-Glide powerboards utilize an Optima Quad cable connected remote control gun which connects to our English built electronics which are warranteed for one year.

We have built, and on occasion can custom build, wireless electric skateboards, we continue to test all available wireless electronics, but so far, neither we, nor our customers prefer wireless to cabled.


We listed some of the reasons:







QUALITY
All of the current wireless electronics available (actually, all other electric skateboards available) are coming from China. They are inexpensive and the quality is much to be desired. We have used Chinese electronics, wireless and cabled, (unbelievably bad), US made Curtis Instrument electronics, and now offer our new English built electronics with an industry first: an unprorated one year warranty. This new generation of motor controllers self checks itself 200 times per second. With a rating of 70 amps, it is the most rugged controller ever offered on an electric skateboard.


INTERFERANCE
The current offering of wireless electronics are subject to interferance and can be influenced by outside radio frequencies from powerlines, phone poles, electric doors, and other RF transmissions. Interferance can and does cause loss of signal between gun and powerboard.


NOISE
Wireless electric skateboards make a very loud and irratating humming noise. E-Glides are stealthy quiet except for the whine of the motor.


RELIABILITY
Wireless electric skateboards are subject to reliablity issues. They are complex, they utilize a remote control gun transmitter, a separate receiver p.c. board , an antenna, and a very complicated main p.c. board.

When you couple this up to a skateboard platform with hard wheels, no suspension, and high sustainable speeds, potential problems increase even more. It would be great if they did what they were suppose to, but they have not reached that point in quality or reliablity. When high quality wireless electronics are available, we will offer them.


THROTTLE FEEL/PRECISION
Our cabled guns, by nature of their direct connection, provide a sensitive and precise feel to the throttle. Maybe this sounds a bit esoteric, but if you ride a wireless, and then ride an E-Glide, this difference is quite noticeable.


BATTERIES
All other available electric skateboards are manufactured in China. The batteries that are used come from many sources, and we, from previous experience, know how sometimes the batteries, by the time they get sent to the skateboard factory, by the time they sit to get shipped, by the time they are shipped, by the time they arrive and are stocked, until the time they are sold, can use up the best part of the batteries life. Often the batteries used are of poor quality to begin with.

We use a different approach. We found one of the most respected battery companies, BB Batteries located close to us in Los Angeles. They deliver fresh batteries about every two weeks to us, and we build up our battery packs in house. This way, we know our customers are getting the highest quality, and freshest batteries obtainable.


SERVICE AND REPAIR
Because of their complexity ,wireless electric skateboards usually have to be shipped back for repair. Shipping costs can exceed $80 roundtrip.

E-Glides feature one "brain" that handles all functions, and can be replaced in minutes with only an allen wrench. Simplicity of design and function allow customers to replace parts themselves, and avoid the inconvenience and associated headaches of shipping a powerboard.
