Cable Test

TESTING THE CABLE / PIGTAIL

The first component to check if your E-Glide suddenly quits working is the control cable.

The Conquest Optima Quad control cable we utilize is a very high quality cable, but if abused, a problem can develope. It has been our observation that the majority of problems we have seen have been incurred after a customer allows another person to ride their powerboard, and the cable is excessively yanked or pulled.

The cable end has a MIDI/DIN connector, which locks into the gun bottom, but allows for quick disconnect should pressure be applied. If you fall or jump off of the powerboard, the gun will disconnect from the cable, and the board will stop. Severe pulling on the cable over time can result in a connection break on the end of the cable where it plugs into the gun. The cables are made with stress relief to minimize this problem, but it can happen.

Motor Test

TESTING THE MOTOR

It is highly unlikely that your E-Glide powerboard would quit working because of a faulty motor. The motor is very rugged, and normally lasts for years. A direct hit on a curb on concrete could break a magnet, but you would know this by the grinding sound the motor would make. It would still work. One issue which would stop the board from working would be a broken motor wire. This is easy to test with your voltmeter.

Electronics Test

TESTING THE ELECTRONICS

Your E-Glide powerboard is fitted with the most reliable electronics ever installed on an electric skateboard. The proof is the unconditional one year warranty we offer on this European built system. It is highly unlikely your electronics will burn out or be defective, but nevertheless, if the cable tests positive and the batteries test positive, the next test is the electronics.

Battery Test

TESTING THE BATTERY

If your board suddenly quits working, it's not likely the battery pack. Worn out or defective batteries usually result in range reduction. As your batteries age, your range will gradually decrease, until the point is reached the range is unacceptable, and they will need to be replaced. An immediate and severe drop in range can be attributed to a defective battery charger, or a defective battery (the battery pack is built with four separate 12 volt batteries). If the powerboard has not been used for some time, and the batteries have not been kept charged, it is very possible that the battery is the issue.
